Puerto Plata tour (full-day)

A full-day cultural city tour of Puerto Plata. This is an info-packed day as your guide will take you on a tour of the jewel in the north coast's crown! After pick-up from your resort, the first stop is the Brugal rum factory. Here you can see the bottling process, "ageing" of the country's most famous rum and even have the chance to buy a bottle or two at duty-free prices. Next, its off to the Amber Museum to see an amazing and unique collection of Dominican amber.  A short drive along the "Malecon" or ocean-front boulevard of Puerto Plata will then bring you to the San Felipe fort - one of the oldest buildings in Puerto Plata, where you can enter the small museum and observe wartime artifacts such as guns and cannon balls.

Next stop is Sosúa Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in the country, where you can lay back, top up your tan or take a swim in the clear blue waters of Sosua Bay.  While on the beach you can test your haggling skills to purchase a Haitian painting or piece of local jewelry.

Finally back to Puerto Plata and the Isabel de Torres mountain. A breathtaking cable-car ride to the top of the mountain where you can stare in awe at the magnificent views of the bay.

Bring swimwear, towels, hi-factor sunblock, spending money to buy any souvenirs or rum and your camera.
