Whalewatching in Samaná

Whalewatching in Samaná

(15 January to 15 March only)

Early morning departure from the hotel for a day full of adventure in Samana. A unique opportunity to observe humpback whales in their natural calving and mating grounds. Listen to the male humpbacks solitary courting song and witness incredible displays of flippering, tail bobbing and breaching by the most active species of great whale in the Atlantic. An experience of a lifetime, not to be missed.

After the whale watching our destination is Cayo Levantado, sometimes called the Bounty Island, a tiny island just off the Samana Peninsula. The sand is white and powdery; the turquoise waters are crystal clear and perfect for gentle swimming. A delicious buffet lunch is included. Please bring towel, bathing suit, extra warm clothes, and plastic cover for cameras.

More than 95% of our trips see whales. But remember humpback whales are wild animals and we can’t guarantee sightings.
